27.7.08 - Classic English Village Church?
Yesterday was really hot and humid, and when you can't eat anymore ice creams or drink anymore ice cold ginger beer where can you go to stay cool? Well I decided to explore this old churchyard and get some shelter under the trees. Skellingthorpe is just outside Lincoln, about 8 miles from my part of town. The church looks very old, but it is deceptive. I've found it very hard to get information on it, but I think it dates from the 1500s, although it was re-built in 1865, and again in 1916 after a fire. It is certainly very photogenic. I have a small gallery of shots here;

It took me ages to decide on a Daily from these. I did several sepia conversions, some B&Ws and a couple of nice watercolours, but eventually went for this one.
