johnloguk > 24.10.09 - A Walk in the Park We've had another of those strange days, with on and off rain until late afternoon, then a sudden clearance and beautiful weather to finish the day. Having dodged the rain in town all morning, I thought I deserved a walk in the park once the sun came out. Things fell into place once I added the sepia filter and frame, I hope you like it as much as I do.
johnloguk > 18.11.08 - Beautiful November Who said that November was a miserable wet grey month? Oh yes, it was me :) Today has been magical, the light was as good as any day I can remember, ever. Low angled, pure, sharp, clean, fresh, you get the picture? These images were taken while I was having lunch in a small park near home. I couldn't decide which to use as my Daily, so did this collage instead. johnloguk > 15.3.08 - Spring is in the air. The blossom is coming out, the gardeners are busy planting the flower beds in the municipal parks and the air is warm(er!). It's actually a pretty grey day, but the rain is holding off for now, and there are three international rugby matches on the TV back to back, life is good!
johnloguk > 14.3.08 - Sorry, I couldn't resist doing another one of these, I promise tomorrow's DP will be something different. I went for a walk in this park at lunchtime, fully intending to take some flower shots for my DP. I got some nice ones, but when I saw how this came out I just had to post it. I like the shot anyway, but I must admit that it was partly an exercise in seeing if I could repeat yesterdays effect.
johnloguk > 3.2.08 - I went for a walk in a local park this morning, and because I've commited myself to this daily photo malarky I tried to avoid the usual shots of squirrels, lakes and forest scenes. You will do well to work out what is going on in this photo. Is it trees through blurred leaves? No, it is reflected trees in a pond, seen through clumps of algae floating on the surface of the water. If you worked that out before reading this then congratulations!
johnloguk > The Arboretum bandstand. The Arboretum was created by Victorian businessmen, who had a penchant for collecting exotic trees from all over the world. At the turn of the Millennium it was restored to it's former glory after years of neglect.
