johnloguk > 30.8.09 - Smiley Face

I've been shooting for the Tourist Board again today, in and around the cathedral. I must have taken thousands of photos here, but every time I manage to find new subjects, new angles, and of course the light changes almost every minute. I'm still processing the shots from today, and I'm hoping to go out again this evening to shoot fireworks, but the weather is conspiring against me. You might get fireworks tomorrow, or you might not :)

I've now created a gallery of shots from the shoot here; http://www.lightanddreamsphotography.com/Photography/LINCS-TOURISM-COMMISSION/9463058_eMtTs#634919705_fdnCi
johnloguk > 6.5.09 - Watcher on the Wall

You've seen this guy before, but not like this. On a sunny day he looks quite friendly, but today this reflection caught my eye as I walked past and I thought he looked pretty menacing. I thought there was an Orwellian quality to this, and the B&W adds to the bleakness. And like those old wartime recruitment posters his eyes seem to follow you around, very "Big Brother", have a nice day :)

Late edit; the face is on the wall of an Art Centre
johnloguk > 4.6.08 - You've heard of the Man in the Moon, well this is the Man in the Planet :) Some of you will remember him from my DP a few weeks ago. This kind of puts him in context a bit.

But if you want the proper context the original is here; http://johnloguk.smugmug.com/gallery/4222541_LCXPH#307147623_2baok-A-LB

With a watercolour version of a slightly different original shot here; http://johnloguk.smugmug.com/gallery/4518270_XDZuH#307149156_WEg7v-A-LB
johnloguk > The face sculpture on the wall outside The Drill Hall Arts Centre
johnloguk > 26.4.08 - Jeez, this guy must have been doing some speed when he hit that wall :)

This is a sculpture on the wall outside an Arts Centre in town. I was prompted to photograph it after someone posted a stags head as their DP the other day. Cheers Jeff :)

I recently found this time lapse video of the face being erected; http://www.lincolndrillhall.com/sculpture_timelapse/index.html

I was tempted to post these nice watercolours of cherry blossom which is all over town at the moment, but I thought the face was just begging to be a DP; http://johnloguk.smugmug.com/gallery/4518270_XDZuH#285227794_JqtLo-A-LB

If you want to see what I was up to last Saturday I have a gallery of shots here that I took for the Day in the Life of Dgrin challenge; http://johnloguk.smugmug.com/gallery/4800928_4ZWLM#285201415_CYMuJ
johnloguk > The years have taken their toll on this face at Lincoln Castle. The soft limestone is no match for the elements over hundereds of years.
