johnloguk > 2.1.10 - The White Stuff

More snow fell today, not much, and it didn't settle, but it wasn't a nice day to be without a car again. It turned to drizzle later and when I went out this evening there was a thin layer of ice over everything, so tomorrow morning could be fun.
johnloguk > 6.10.09 - Near Miss

This was taken about an hour ago. I'd run out of tea and decided to go down to the shops. I thought I was going to get very wet at one point, but this nasty looking cloud drifted on by without dropping it's load on us. I took three quick shots and this is the one that showed the cloud best. We had our first rain for ages this morning, but it didn't amount to much, and this afternoon was really mild. Tomorrow is forecast to be wetter, so we'll see if our Indian Summer is over or not.

One unexpected effect of being on the Dailies has been my increased awareness of where the sun, is in relation to objects on the ground and my viewing position throughout the year. Some days I feel like the guys who designed Stonehenge, wondering where I have to be by what time to frame the photo the way I want. Just over a year ago I took an almost identical photo to this, but with a redder sunset, and I've been watching the sun move around in the sky until it hit this spot again. Of course it was in a similar position last November as well, but it was heading south, now it is heading back north again as the days grow longer. Are you all still with me :)

Anyway, I took this down by my local shops yesterday, but I've only just got round to processing it so hopefully it isn't too much of a cheat! Whoever designed this archway must have been in the "Stonehenge Zone" as well, because I can't believe that they didn't take into account the position of the Cathedral when they lined it up on paper for the first time.
johnloguk > 18.11.08 - Beautiful November

Who said that November was a miserable wet grey month? Oh yes, it was me :)

Today has been magical, the light was as good as any day I can remember, ever. Low angled, pure, sharp, clean, fresh, you get the picture? These images were taken while I was having lunch in a small park near home. I couldn't decide which to use as my Daily, so did this collage instead. But, none of these is my favourite shot from the session, that one is here, enjoy; http://johnloguk.smugmug.com/gallery/4053630_nJYqk#419940234_zSKqS

It sounds corny, but I'm still buzzing from this session, I am so happy with these images, I wish they all came this easily. Photography is such a powerful medium.

I've just posted a new version, with added text, to here; http://johnloguk.smugmug.com/gallery/4328734_9ZqLR#419966938_fYrD4
