Some subjects lend themselves to an "antique postcard" treatment, and I like creating them, so this is where I put them.
For the technically minded, I almost always increase the contrast of the image and apply an unsharp mask after converting to black and white. I find that this lifts the image and increases definition. I then apply a sepia photo filter of 80%, and the framing is a template in Photoshop Elements.
