THE LADY OF SHALOTT - HARTSHOLME PARK : This gallery is for my photos of the WAG Screen Project "The Lady of Shalott". They have been kind enough to allow me to take photographs of the project, but these must remain private until the film is launched in May 2009. More information on the project can be found here http://www.theladyofshalott.co.uk/ and the site is updated regularly.

The images in this gallery are from three scenes; The Lady and the Boat, The Lovers, and The Funeral. All were shot in Hartsholme Park, Lincoln. The images are a work in progress and are subject to changes. The Lovers were shot at midday, but will ultimately be shown in the film under moonlight. The funeral scene is meant to be in the evening. The funeral scene was difficult to photograph because of the low light, and at one point I was operating at ISO1600. These are very challenging to process, hence the experimentation with different treatments.

Huge thanks again to Pauline Loven and everyone at WAG Screen for allowing me to intrude on their project.

CHALLENGE GALLERY : This is the place for our happy little (rapidly expanding) band to be challenged on a weekly basis, and hopefully battle outside our comfort zones. We all have our favourite areas of photography, and it is all to easy to become stuck in them and not attempt new things. I know this for a fact because I've been there! But photography is a wonderful place of infinite variety and endless opportunities for artistic expression, welcome to our mad world :)

THE LADY OF THE BUTTERFLIES : This gallery is from a project based on the life of Lady Eleanor Glanville (1654-1709), whose life is captured in the novel "Lady of the Butterflies" by Fiona Mountain. Lady Eleanor lived during a time of great change, and courted controversy with her interests in entomology, something unheard of for a woman in the 17th Century. In these photos Eleanor is played by actress Tiffany Haynes, and the outside scenes were shot at Fiskerton Fen, just East of Lincoln.

The second half of the shots were taken at Goltho Church, a small Tudor brick built building with a simple interior reminiscent of Puritan England. There are several "behind the scenes" type shots, and some experiments in post processing.
